La Cátedra UNESCO de Diplomacia y Patrimonio de la Ciencia, pionera en México y el mundo al conjugar ambos ámbitos, fue instalada en el Instituto de Biología (IB) de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.

En la ceremonia, William Lee Alardín, coordinador de la Investigación Científica de la UNAM, recalcó que las colecciones que están bajo el resguardo de esta casa de estudios y los servicios que brinda, son múltiples.

Ejemplo de ello son las colecciones biológicas a cargo del IB, el Servicio Sismológico Nacional, la Biblioteca Nacional y la estrecha relación que mantiene con los institutos nacionales de salud. Todo ello constituye un patrimonio de conocimiento, científico, cultural, social y técnico, que es objeto de estudio de una iniciativa como esta, explicó.

Pero, prosiguió, no sólo se trata de la creación de conocimiento mediante la investigación, sino de su transmisión a las nuevas generaciones a través de la docencia, la enseñanza y la difusión de la cultura a la sociedad. Esos son los tres pilares de la función y misión de la Universidad de la nación.

Lo anterior se constituye en un patrimonio que deber insertarse en una comunidad que lo puede aprovechar; además, forma parte de una riqueza colectiva internacional que sólo puede crecer y servir a la sociedad a través de la diplomacia. Esta Cátedra es un paso en esa dirección, que permite poner todo ese conocimiento al servicio de la colaboración internacional y de México, expuso Lee Alardín.

En ese contexto se inserta el Memorandum of Understanding que suscribieron en la misma ceremonia las universidades Nacional Autónoma de México y Sharjah (UoS), de Emiratos Árabes Unidos.

Al hacer uso de la palabra, Martha Delgado Peralta, subsecretaria de Asuntos Multilaterales y Derechos Humanos de la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores, puntualizó que esta Cátedra surge como un espacio interdisciplinario de investigación sobre la diplomacia desde y para la ciencia.

Así, en la UNAM se abren nuevas áreas de estudio: la Diplomacia de la ciencia en México y Latinoamérica; Ciencia para la paz y el desarrollo sostenible; y Patrimonio de la ciencia en México y el mundo. “Esta Cátedra seguramente aportará mucho al servicio exterior y a lo que hace nuestra Secretaría”.

A su vez, Hamid Al Naimiy, rector de la UoS, señaló: “hemos venido desde el otro lado del mundo para estrechar los lazos de colaboración con universidades de México. Recorriendo la UNAM, nos ha impresionado la calidad de la investigación científica y humanística, y la riqueza del acervo cultural que alberga, así como el panorama de la colaboración por venir, pero sobre todo su hospitalidad y generosidad”.

En nombre de la institución que encabeza, felicitó a México y a la Universidad Nacional por la instalación de la Cátedra UNESCO de Diplomacia Científica y Patrimonio. “Desde marzo de 2022, la UoS y la UNAM vienen trabajando de cerca para iniciar proyectos de colaboración bajo esa Cátedra, y ya hemos identificado dos importantes proyectos de cooperación”; uno de ellos es el desarrollo de un MOOC (curso en línea abierto y masivo) sobre diplomacia pública en ciencia y patrimonio.

Más adelante, Susana Magallón Puebla, directora del IB, calificó como una distinción y orgullo que la Cátedra quede albergada en el Pabellón Nacional de la Biodiversidad de la entidad que encabeza, cuyo propósito medular es la documentación y el estudio de la biota de México y del mundo, sus plantas, animales y hongos.

El Instituto ha estado indisolublemente ligado al patrimonio científico, pues su componente esencial son las colecciones biológicas decretadas como nacionales en 1929, entre ellas el Herbario Nacional. Por ello, la Cátedra queda instalada en esa entidad, detalló.

Ana María Cetto Kramis, titular de la Cátedra, refirió que este acto es el inicio de una nueva etapa del largo itinerario de un proyecto cuya semilla se sembró antes de la pandemia en el seno de la Secretaría de Educación, Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación de la Ciudad de México, gracias a los esfuerzos de su titular, Rosaura Ruiz Gutiérrez, presente en la ceremonia, y de la oficina de la UNESCO en México.

En momentos críticos de su desarrollo, relató, la iniciativa encontró un respaldo invaluable en la Universidad Nacional, plasmado hace algunos meses en la firma del acuerdo para su creación. Así, en su breve vida, la Cátedra ha tocado varias estaciones entre las que destacan la Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acatlán, mediante cursos, seminarios y próximamente un diplomado; y el Programa Universitario de Estudios de la Ciudad, entre otras instituciones.

En la ceremonia también participaron Ezra Clark, director interino de la División de Política Científica de la UNESCO; y Ernesto Fernández Polcuch, director de la Oficina Regional de Ciencias de la UNESCO para América Latina y el Caribe.

En la Cátedra UNESCO de Diplomacia y Patrimonio de la Ciencia fungen como coordinador general el científico mexicano Parsifal Fidelio Islas Morales; y como coordinadora académica, Yudy Tibaduiza, científica colombiana.

El Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) dio a conocer hoy la app IPN Oficial para dispositivos móviles. Se trata de una nueva herramienta tecnológica para acercar sus servicios a las y los estudiantes, personal docente, de apoyo y asistencia a la educación, así como un recurso auxiliar para salvaguardar la integridad física de su comunidad.

La nueva app se encuentra disponible de manera gratuita para los sistemas operativos iOS y Android, y cuenta con un botón de pánico conectado a la Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC) de la Ciudad de México, primera institución educativa con este servicio, para brindar ayuda en caso necesario a la comunidad politécnica dentro y fuera de las instalaciones educativas. Al activar el botón, el dispositivo móvil comparte la ubicación geográfica del usuario con las autoridades de seguridad pública.

En la Segunda Sesión Ordinaria del XLI Consejo General Consultivo, presidido por el director general del IPN, Arturo Reyes Sandoval, el encargado de la Dirección de Sistemas Informáticos del Centro Nacional de Cálculo (Cenac), Carlos Gerardo Torres Rosas, presentó la app desarrollada por especialistas politécnicos, con el propósito de acercar a sus usuarios de manera innovadora los servicios y recursos de la institución.

Explicó que la opción “Ayuda IPN” incorpora información para conocer los senderos seguros, la función para llamar a los números de emergencia como Cruz Roja, Bomberos y Locatel, así como un botón de pánico que permite obtener asistencia telefónica con el jefe de policía del cuadrante más cercano al usuario en el momento de solicitar auxilio.

El menú de “Denuncia segura de violencia de género”, destacó, permite el registro y consulta de este perfil de denuncias en escuelas, centros y unidades educativas y centros de trabajo.

A través del “Módulo privado”, permite el acceso a una función personalizada que despliega la credencial y el correo electrónico institucionales de los miembros de la comunidad politécnica. En la opción “Calendario Escolar” es posible consultar las actividades académicas para las modalidades escolarizada, no escolarizada y mixta.

Torres Rosas señaló que la aplicación se encuentra en constante actualización y como parte de los nuevos servicios, en coordinación con la Dirección de Administración Escolar, se integrará la consulta de horarios escolares, planes y programas de estudio, calificaciones y constancias, entre otros.

La app incluye los botones “Once IPN” para ver la programación en vivo del Canal Once, y Radio IPN para escuchar en vivo la transmisión de la radiodifusora politécnica.

Además, cuenta con la opción “Donativos” para la captación de recursos mediante una interfaz amigable y segura.

Para promover la cultura financiera y aplicar habilidades y conocimientos en un mercado de valores simulado que opera en tiempo real, se realizó la décimo cuarta edición del Reto Actinver, donde dos alumnos y un docente del Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) obtuvieron los tres primeros lugares del certamen.

Los politécnicos compitieron con más de 8 mil 500 participantes de universidades públicas y privadas, de los cuales mil 800 eran del IPN. Durante seis semanas y mediante una plataforma educativa, los participantes tuvieron acceso a cursos, talleres y conferencias sobre finanzas personales, mercado de valores y cultura financiera impartidos por expertos de la Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV), Actinver y otras instituciones del ramo financiero.

Los ganadores del reto fueron el alumno del sexto semestre de la Escuela Superior de Economía (ESE), Jorge Daniel Montes de Oca Vázquez, quien obtuvo el primer lugar; el estudiante de octavo semestre, también de la ESE, José Maximino Montiel García, segundo lugar; y el docente de la Escuela Superior de Comercio y Administración (ESCA), Unidad Tepepan, Ramón Cerecedo Chagoya, quien consiguió el tercer lugar. Todos ellos recibieron diploma y un estímulo económico.

Los politécnicos ganadores expresaron satisfacción por los resultados obtenidos en el certamen y dijeron que esta experiencia los motivó a continuar preparándose en temas del sector financiero.

Durante seis semanas aplicaron los conocimientos adquiridos en las aulas y demostraron la calidad educativa que se imparte en el IPN, ya que aporta las herramientas necesarias para competir con otras instituciones educativas.

La participación de la comunidad politécnica en este certamen no tuvo costo, ya que formó parte del convenio de colaboración entre la Comisión de Operación y Fomento de Actividades Académicas (COFAA) del IPN con Actinver, con el propósito de promover la educación financiera entre los integrantes de esta casa de estudios.

Actinver es una banca de inversión mexicana que, desde hace 14 años, organiza el concurso para fomentar la cultura financiera y divulgación del mercado de valores entre la sociedad, a través de educación, capacitación, orientación y análisis de sus participantes.

El Reto Actinver es un concurso de habilidades donde los participantes compran y venden acciones y fondos de inversión de empresas que cotizan en los mercados bursátiles, a través de una plataforma simulada de la BMV que funciona en tiempo real durante la duración del concurso.
